California: Economics 2

by Ian Kleine

So far, with the progress California makes, and immigrants being assured of the sweet promise of ‘milk and honey’, California is almost like a state of extremes when it comes to the talk of per capita personal income.

Per capita personal income is how much income an individual earns, usually measured over a year (annually). The PCPI can determine a state or a county’s feasibility for new business opportunities (after all, if every person has enough money to spend; then there should be no problem with the market, save for dealing with the market niches, monopoly and what not). As of 2007, PCPI has reached an amount around 40000 dollars, ranking the state in 11th place in the nation.

Book Fairs

by Ian Kleine

Well, frankly, the first thing you wouldn’t associate exciting fairs with are books.

They’re boring, musty and you wouldn’t probably want to spend your time that is meant to be done in the library. But what’s different about book fairs, is you get to see an amazing difference rather than just your standard trip into the library.

But book fairs, in my nerdy sort of way, are awesome. It’s a library fest. Well, okay, that sounded not much fun. It’s basically just like a bookstore. Except there’s not much of the elevator music they keep playing in the background, you hear more noise because the fair is either outside or inside the mall, and you get to read standing up, instead of lounging around in the bookstore’s reading area.

Selling for the First Time

by Ian Kleine

Everyone has to take that one big, scary step into something new in order to proceed.

There are a lot of people afraid to try new things, but for the most, it is a matter of making the big choice. It’s not as terrifying like going to the dentist when you were just a kid, but there’s a big diff. You are an adult now, but you have these serious apprehensions about yourself whether you have to give it a go or not.

For one thing, have your group’s support. You really don’t have to go at it all alone.

CraftShow Tips and Tricks

Florida is known as the Sunshine State, and for good reason; it is one of the few places in America with a warm, tropical climate, and the ambience is always sunny with all the fairs and festivals occurring all year round. Aside from the tried-and-tested annual festivals that have been running for many years now, there are also fledgling organizers that struggle to take off from their first year. To many people who have talents to show, be it a skill in cooking or an ability for crafts, then this is the place to earn a little extra.

Some people seem to think that Alaska is a place filled with nothing but ice. This is, thankfully, totally untrue. While generally cold, we do have fairer weather, and it is not that difficult to find warm weather here.

That said, many people find that it is best to pass the time indoors. One of the best pastimes for many people here is their involvement in various crafts. Many learn how to knit sweaters of different styles, while others go for more meditative woodcarving. Some go for exotic ice sculpting (though that is rare); indeed, there are a lot of craftspeople in Alaska.

The Art of Buying and Reselling

by Ian Kleine

Tired of thinking something for yourself? Nothing new to sell much these days? Don’t have the effort for innovation or you are simply just bored?

You should take to being like a merchant then. This mercantile trade of buying things from people at a discounted price and then earning a profit by selling them to people of other locales. Just like how the merchants did it in the olden times.
